Support for other operating systems

QuickTime
VLC Media Player may be used in place of QuickTime, or on platforms where QuickTime is not available, such as Linux.

1. Download VLC Media Player for your operating system.

2. Run VLC Media Player and select "Open Network..." from the "File" menu.

3. Enter the SDP URL listed on the channel's Info page, available on the DATN Channels page, and generally in the format http://<channel>.datn.wisc.edu. For example, the URL for CNN would be http://cnn.datn.wisc.edu/live.sdp ("live.sdp" may be omitted).

Please note that VLC is not officially supported, and may not function with all channels.
